Established in 1957, Lissie's Katonah Playschool is a private, nonsectarian early childhood center, operating on the premises of the First Presbyterian Church of Katonah, New York. Our programs include preschool classes for 2 – 5 year old children, Kindergarten Enrichment classes, and Before- and After-School Care for School age children. Children of all races, colors, creeds and abilities are welcome at Katonah Playschool.

Philosophy
Lissie's Katonah Playschool provides an educational experience that promotes a healthy, happy atmosphere, where children are encouraged to develop social-emotional, language,
cognitive, fine and gross motor, and self-help skills.

There are a number of variables which contribute to a rich, educational experience for young children.
- Development of a good self-image and self-confidence
- Bonding with the teachers provides a safe environment
- Manipulation, exploration, and discovery of developmentally appropriate experiences
- Relating to others in a cooperative and accepting atmosphere
- Print-rich environment using labels, big books, and experience charts provide opportunities for the children to learn about books and writing
