Meet our Teachers

Margot Liffiton
Teacher of 2’s and 3’s

Margot earned her B.S. degree in Biology with a minor in Psychology from Colby College in Waterville, ME and taught Biology and General Science at the secondary level in both Maine and Illinois. After relocating east, she developed a wide variety of age-appropriate and hands-on science programs for preschool and elementary school students. She has taught these programs at preschools, libraries, Somers Park and Rec, and Brookside Elementary School in Ossining. She is currently working towards Early Childhood Education accreditation, which she will complete in 2010. Margot lives in Somers with her husband, John, and her 2 children, Erin and Ben.

Cynthia Hicks

Teacher of the 2’s and Extended Day

Cynthia attended St. Francis College, where she has earned 64 credits towards a degree in Early Childhood Education. She now has an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, continuing on to complete her B.A. by August of 2010. Cynthia has 10 years experience working in early childcare. Before moving to Westchester she taught first grade at a private school in Brooklyn. She took time off to help her family adjust to the move. She returned to work for a pre-school in Peekskill for 3 and 4 year olds. Cynthia was the Director of a local camp for five years. She lives in the Katonah-Lewisboro area with her husband Neil, daughter Paris and son Austin.

All head teachers have, or are working toward, degrees in Early Childhood Education.  Teachers and assistants participate in ongoing professional development programs.

Anne Harris
Director and Teacher of 3 and 4 year olds

Anne has a B.S. degree in elementary education with a minor in music from SUNY Cortland. She received a master's degree in special education with a specialty in learning disabilities from The College of New Rochelle. Her teaching experience has taken her from a fourth grade in Tempe, Arizona to a second in the Clarkstown schools. She taught for six years at Tom Thumb Preschool in Mohegan Lake. Her special education experiences have taken her from preschoolers at Westchester School for Special Children in Yonkers and United Cerebral Palsy in White Plains to first through
