Areas of Readiness Experiences
Language - includes stories, dramatic play, songs, finger plays, puppets, flannel board stories and retelling.
Visual Perception and Memory - includes matching, sorting and copying
Auditory Perception and Memory - includes songs, poems, letter sounds, environmental sounds, same and different, following directions, retelling, sequencing

Phonemic Awareness - the ability to recognize and manipulate individual
sound units (phonemes) in spoken language: to examine language independent of meaning, to see relationships between sounds in words, and to rearrange sounds to create new words.
Daily Living and Self-help - includes developing responsibility and independence in helping themselves and others.
Social Studies, Science and Math - includes awareness of holidays, seasons, calendar, animal and human studies, seeds and planting, cooking, manipulative materials.
Social / Behavioral - includes cooperation, taking turns, self-control and good manners.
Fine and Gross Motor Activities - includes writing, using scissors and pasting, sewing or stringing beads, playground and movement activities.

Computer - children will develop independence, self-help skills, motor control, visual and auditory concepts, language skills and cognitive skills. The computer can creatively present colors, differences such as larger and smaller, concepts such as above and below, shape and letter recognition, counting, matching and sequencing.
